It's "Semi" Finished Continued
I made some 1/4" diameter wooden plugs to go into the holes once the
metal racks are removed. When the clear is dry she can remove the plugs
making it easier to install the racks again.

I'm also going to send her some hardware
to hang it with. This will consist of a metal wall anchor and
screw, which should hold this with no problem.

Making An Add On Shelf
It's hard to believe that I made this yoga mat rack over
a year ago and I'm still not finished. But as you know this is joint
effort project and there was a change that Tracey wanted so it's time to
get back to work. In the picture above you can see the keyhole slot to
hang it up. Well it turns out that it moves when she's putting the mat
in the rack. I should have foreseen this but I didn't and now it's time
to address it.
Working With Wood
What we came up with is a shelf that will hold some
smaller exercise equipment that will be located under and against the
rack preventing it from moving. And I'll be matching the species of wood
too. Now if Tracey lived closer I could add two key hole slots, but she's back
east and I'm out west.

 |
Here I'm cutting some pieces to make this new shelf out of.
|
 |
Letting things dry over night.
|
 |
The width of the maple should match the rack above it, but the walnut
will be slightly wider.
|
 |
Now it's time to cut my pieces to an exact size and with the help of my
indicator, this process is very easy.
|
 |
I cut this piece slightly oversize, measured it, and then made the final
adjustments from the picture above.
|
 |
The planner was next, just a cleanup was needed here.
|
 |
Squaring and cutting to length.
