On April 14, we headed over to
Riverside to a place called Frank's Bar & Grill for their 1st Annual
Benefit Custom Car, Motorcycle and Bicycle Show. The show was sponsored
by the E-Street Cruizers and was held from 10am to 4pm. All the proceeds
went to the Adolescent Treatment Centers which is a good cause.
Larry, his son Scott, and Scotts son Brendan all
road over in Larry's car and Terri and I followed them. We
arrived about 45 minutes early which meant we had our choice of parking
(that's always a good thing). The day started off a little cool but soon
turned into a very nice day.
With this being Frank's Bar & Grill's first
car show, things went very well. They had a nice raffle, a 50/50
drawing, a good DJ and a live band. The oldies and blues music were being
played by the DJ and at noon, the band started playing for about 45
minutes at a time. The band was very good as they played some
Santana, War, Los Lobos, etc. If your wondering how the food was at
Frank's, it was great. They have steak, seafood, burgers, all kinds of sandwiches
and they serve breakfast too. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger and the
waitress asked me how I wanted it cooked. Now you don't hear that very
often anymore. Turns out they use sirloin for the meat and it was one of
the best burgers that I've ever had. I always look forward to the food
at car shows and Frank's Bar and Grill didn't disappoint.
Once we had all our raffle and 50/50 tickets
in hand, we settled in for the show. The amount of cars that showed up
that day were pretty good at about 50 and there were a few
new ones that I've never seen before. To start off with we have a 57
Chevy and a 40 Ford. These cars were parked next to us and were easy to
look at.
