Here you can see what's going on a little better. The press fit is not that much and it was very easy to push the magnet flush with the surface.
 

I masked the hinges to prevent any clear spray getting in them. Now normally I'd remove any hinges but I didn't want any misalignment.
 

My side yard is again being used as a spray booth.
 

Here's the box all finished. I like the contrast of the different species of wood.

The box should be easy to hold and doesn't have any hot spots.
 

The clear spray sure does bring out the color of the wood.

I thought about putting finger and thumb pockets to remove the hammer but I really don't need them as the handle is large enough to get a hold of like it is.
